VISITING HOURS

Visiting hours are scheduled as follows:

General Care Services:
10:00 am – 7:00 pm
(Two visitors at a time)

Critical Cardiac Unit:
12:30 pm – 1:00 pm
5:00 pm – 5:30 pm
(One visitor at a time)

Intensive Care Department:
11:00 am – 11:30 am
5:00 pm – 5:30 pm
(One visitor at a time)

Pre-Admission Procedures

Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure a smooth and efficient pre-admission process:

1. All required documents must be submitted by the patient to the Pre-Admission Department.

2. The Pre-Admission Unit will forward the documents to the Approval Unit.

3. The Approval Unit will conduct a review and may request any additional necessary documents.

4. Once the file is complete, the Approval Unit will send it to the provider for approval.

5. After receiving approval from the provider, the Pre-Admission Unit will be notified.

6. The Pre-Admission Unit will contact the patient to schedule the appointment.

Nutrition and Meals

Our Food Services Department ensures that every meal is nutritious, delicious, and tailored to your dietary needs. Dietitians and chefs work together to support your recovery with healthy options. Meals start being served at these times:

Breakfast: 7:30 AM
Lunch: 12:00 PM
Dinner: 5:00 PM

Smoking Policy

To maintain a healthy environment, NDUH is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas, including patient rooms and service departments.

Pre-Admission Unit

The Pre-Admission Unit (PAU) is a dedicated department at NDUH where patients are fully prepared for surgery. Our goal is to ensure that your hospital experience is safe, efficient, and as smooth as possible.

A registered nurse from the PAU will contact you prior to your scheduled surgery to provide guidance and answer any questions you may have.

What to expect during your visit to the PRE-ADMISSION UNIT

The visit typically lasts 1 to 2 hours

After your visit, the hospital will contact you to confirm the date and time of your surgery and provide all necessary instructions.

Medical Records

Our Medical Records Department can provide the following upon request:

1. X-rays (provided after obtaining your doctor’s approval)

2. Copies of laboratory tests

3.A summary of your medical file

Pre-Operative Guidelines

Proper preparation is essential for a safe and successful surgery. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Smoking: Refrain from smoking for at least one week before surgery to reduce the risk of complications.
  • Medications: Stop taking aspirin or similar medications one week before surgery unless advised otherwise by your cardiologist. If you have diabetes, do not take insulin or oral glucose-lowering medications on the morning of your surgery unless instructed by your doctor.
  • Fasting: Do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the day of your surgery.
  • Health Status: If you experience any changes in your health, such as a virus or illness, consult your physician immediately.
  • Hygiene: Take a bath the evening before or the morning of your surgery.
